Administration

NetMail*400 System Administration is designed to be simple and automatic. It is possible to automate the enrollment of new users, but leave individual mail users responsible for maintaining their own options. The System Administrator should establish a back up and archival schedule based on the needs of the installation and should review the security requirements for Electronic Mail before installing NetMail.  There is a special menu for System Administration called NETMAILADM. You access it by typing:

GO NETMAILADM

Which results in the screen shown below.

All of the system administration options are available on this menu. With administrator privileges, you can exercise total control of NetMail*400 from your workstation.  Here are some highlights of the many capabilities:

System and userID authorization control of usage	Provides secure control over use of messaging system
System and userID parameter control of usage	Provides security and control of directory usage, ability to send spool files, attach files, and distribution lists
API's for Automated Administration, directory management	Pre-written routines to accomplish system profile
Automatic enrollment of AS400 users in AS400 POP3 server (when used as Post Office for Green Screen users)	Ease burden of building and maintaining address books and distribution lists
Automatic enrollment of new e-mail senders	Stay current with user or contact list
Delivery notification	Now or later choice for recipient based on urgency
Automatic archival of mail	Ease burden of back-up and email bloat

NetMail*400 is fully equipped with system administrator functions that will satisfy the most demanding requirements.  To test these administrator functions, and all the other capabilities of NetMail, just choose the “Evaluate NetMail” button.
